Tame the crowd
4 candidates to an election try to tame the crowd.
Press ENTER to reload.
In the simulation:
- 5 topics are discussed : the ideas about those topics can be polarized "green" or "red" , or in between "yellow". 2 topics are presented at once.
- The candidates regularly make a poll on 10% of the electors to select the hottest topics and guess what is best.
- The media regularly bring up ideas about topics and electors may change their mind.
- Finally, each elector is attracted to the candidate presenting the two ideas fitting the best.
A submission to the Trijam #294: The 3 hour game jam, where you have to code a game in three hours. The theme was "accumulate power".
I designed the game on paper in 2 hours.
I coded the simulation part in roughly 3 hours. Surprisingly, it kinds of work.
I don't have the time to implement the "game part" where you were supposed to take the control of a candidate and try to propose the best ideas to be elected by observing polling results and crowd's reactions to other candidates ideas.
I don't have time to make any tuning (based on what anyway??). It would probably take me hours to make something playable.
No music, no attractive visuals. That's not a game (yet?), but, it's still fun to watch I think. And I'm happy with the behavior of the crowd.

congrats!! I'm definitely voting for you on Wednesday! :) Fellow First 5er
(my Mac said that the page was reloaded because it was using to much memory ;)
Thank you for giving it a try, fellow godotner !
Strange bug of yours :). I can run it on Firefox with 300 people without problem on my computer while I only have a low-end integrated GPU and 16Gb of RAM... and in the build I put only 100 people, just in case... I'll try to make a proper version next week-end.
Edit: and the HTML build works (slowly) on my old android smartphone too. Apple and Godot...
